Samuel and Celeste | Myer Mural Hall Wedding Photography

An Elegant Affair at Myer Mural Hall reception with Preparation at Crown Promenade

Samuel and Celeste’s wedding was one of elegance and style.   Their chemistry, happiness and love for each other shows in every photograph.   It was a  fun and beautiful day with preparations and Tea Ceremony starting at Crown Metropol,  Ceremony at St Ignatius Church in Richmond followed by Reception in the beautiful, chic European Ballroom at Myer Mural Hall.

There was lots of fun and laughs with the Traditional Chinese Door games.   If you’re unfamiliar with Chinese Wedding Door Games, this is a fun and light- hearted Chinese wedding tradition.  For those who have never witnessed it, they are funny and sometimes crazy and complete madness.   Sam arrived with his male entourage {otherwise known as Hing Dais} at the brides hotel suite where the bride, bridesmaids {also known as Tze Muis} and family gathered inside.   Sam and his Hing Dais were stopped at the front door by the Tze Muis and he was not allowed to see the bride until he passed all their tests, set out by all the gorgeous ladies.  Everyone has different fun games.   Today, for Sam to prove his love for Celeste, Sam and the boys were given crazy, colourful tinsel wigs and had to dance to ‘Psy’s Gangham Style’ a song chosen by the bridesmaids.   The groomsmens socks were hung from the roof and Sam had to choose cards with the next task to be performed with his mouth.  Food tasting games and Lai-see giving were all performed, all in the name of fun, tradition and to prove his love for Celeste.

After being granted entry, Sam and Celeste hosted a beautiful traditional Tea ceremony followed by some family photos and amazing refreshments at Silks Chinese Restaurant at Crown.  It was a special time as most family had flown in from overseas.

The church ceremony followed at the beautiful and grand St Ignatius Church in Richmond.  The church was beautifully decorated with peonies and guests were served refreshments afterwards.  Helium balloons were released after the ceremony with more Wedding Photography following.  We had a great time on locations such as the South Melbourne Town Hall and the Roof top of Crown.

The reception was at the recently redeveloped Myer Mural Hall.  This very chic and elegant, European Ballroom is located on the top floor of the Iconic Myer city store.  With its Parisian inspiration, the parquet flooring and the 18th century style mirrored commodes that dance light around the room it was the perfect setting for the occasion.  The reception was styled to be elegant and enchanted with organic and floral tones by Joanie from One Wedding Wish.  Joanie was also responsible for the beautiful custom made photobooth of family portraits that was set up to entertain guests.  If you are looking for a Wedding Styling Company for your special day, I suggest you pop over to www.oneweddingwish.com.au and view more of Joanie’s amazing and very inspirational work!   She’s very talented!

I loved the many traditions mixed with modern traditions within this wedding.  There was so much work put into this wedding and so many personal details that I just adored!  Sam and Celeste hand made their own beautiful wedding favours consisting of delicious lavender cookies, the family photographs were a beautiful personal touch and the general love and respect this group showed for one another was amazing.

Our beautiful and very stunning bride Celeste dazzled and graced her guests in not one but four custom made beautiful gowns made by Alan at the Wedding Present in Singapore and Emanuel B Couture in Singapore.

It was a pleasure to work with such a polite, fun and lovely couple.  It was a great day!  Congratulations Celeste and Sam.  I hope you have an amazing time on your honeymoon in Bora Bora.  It sounds amazing!  Thanks for choosing me to photograph your special day.  We wish you a lifetime of love and happiness. Andrew
