Montsalvat Wedding Ceremony – Words by Sally Hughes | Marriage Celebrant Melbourne
There’s something especially lovely about elopements. There’s a sense of calm, an unhurried and relaxed mood that I find so very beautiful. There’s also a wonderful intimacy created when only the bride and groom, their two witness and I walk around a garden or gallery, unrestrained by seating arrangements and run sheets, in search of the perfect spot to conduct the ceremony.
We begin when we’re ready.Elopements are much briefer than “standard” civil ceremonies, usually lasting only ten minutes. Couples tend not to want a processional, readings or an account of their relationship story. So every word counts. Every smile, giggle, glance and touch is noticed and each word spoken is done so with intention and sincerity.
On Saturday, two very beautiful people were married in a private and picturesque setting at Montsalvat Weddings & Events. With the imposing stone wall of the Great Hall as our backdrop, we stood together and celebrated a very happy relationship. The ceremony was relaxed and joyful and the setting peaceful – the silence only interrupted by the sound of laughter, the loud pop of a champagne cork and the occasional crowing peacock. It was such a happy afternoon, one I shall always remember fondly.
Congratulations M&M and thank you for the honour of conducting your ceremony. It was such a pleasure spending an afternoon with you. May you live a long and happy life together. Un matrimonio felice per voi. xx
