Another fantastic couple Jarrod and Paula braving the elements this Autumn for fantastic images! I myself also got quite wet, lying in the wet sand and jumping through the bushes… Anything to get the shot!
Jarrod and Paula got married at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Lorne. This unique church built in 1956 was a photographers dream boasting amazing walls that lifted up from the side, creating perfect light, a breathtaking view of Lorne and the beach from the balcony and the smell of the coastal air!
I’m quite familiar with The Great Ocean Road to Lorne and right up to Port Campbell, and had some great locations in mind. Unfortunately whilst scouting locations that morning I ran into a lot of road closures, and was notified that the roads would be closed for at least the next 24 hours, as they were doing burn offs……So unfortunately due to fires and time restraints we didn’t make it to the Rainforest behind Lorne, however with the many gorgeous locations around the area we still managed to get some amazing shots! Things don’t always go to plan but I’m always full of other ideas to explore!
Jarrod and Paula got ready in the beautiful beach apartments with ocean views at the back of the Grand Pacific Hotel Lorne. The Bridal party were relaxed and easy going and I very much enjoyed working with the two year old gorgeous flower girl. Having two kids of my own I should have known stickers was my answer to the perfect shot!
Upon arriving at the reception at The Grand Pacific Hotel, I noticed the most perfect light, together with the low tide exposing magnificent rock pools and creating beautiful reflections. Jarrod and Paula graciously excused themselves after I politely insisted on making it worth their while! We all agreed the shots are gorgeous and most definitely worth it…
What an amazing part of the world this is! I love to live, swim surf and work as a Lorne Wedding Photographer!
Thanks for braving the seaweed, wet sand and rock hopping in your heels.
