I was excited to see the decorations and set-up of Lucy and Michaels wedding, I knew it would be visually stunning as I have previously worked with Lucy’s sister and friend of mine Georgie photographing some of the most amazing flower displays you’ve ever seen. The wedding was held on Lucy’s parents gorgeous property Tulliallan. There was a lot of emotions as Lucy walked down the isle of her parents property, where her siblings had also previously been married, many of their nieces were running around on the day.
I love Lucy and Michaels easy going nature when the celebrant David Schneider, felt the light drizzle of rain, paused and asked “what would you like to do now?” Lucy replied with “on with the show!” Laughing. The light rain did not seem to phase anyone, and after a beautiful ceremony with some great readings the guests went inside for refreshments. It was here and I got the family photos started under a beautiful vine covered porch, I was getting wet in the process, but that didn’t matter… Things we do for a beautiful shot!
The property had so many amazing spots for Wedding photography, with the driveway being one of my favorite. As the darkness approached we included some additional lighting and modern techniques as we explored the gardens more. The marquee was setup amazingly, with it’s clear roof and gum trees lit overhead, tying in the outdoors with the indoors, along with the feature lights utlizing Australian gum tree branches.
A little on Lucy and Michael- Our gorgeous couple met after Lucy had returned from overseas. She went to catch up with a good school friend and Michael was there. After a night of chatting and getting to know each other, who would’ve guessed that 12 years later they would be Husband and Wife.
Micheal proposed to Lucy in Bali whilst celebrating her 30th birthday. Michael had surprised Lucy by secretly organsing most of her family to be in Bali. He proposed 2 days after her 30th birthday. Lucy said ” We were at our villa getting ready for dinner, he took me outside onto the balcony and got down on one knee – before he could get the full proposal out, I was down on my knees hugging him and saying YES!”
It was an absolute pleasure to photograph this wonderful couple and to catch up with some of their amazing guests. Congratulations Lucy and Mike! We wish you a wonderful life together full of happiness. Andrew and Team
