I started James and Stephanie’s day in Northcote and then continued on to St Johns Church for a few informal portraits before they were married! It was here at the church where I captured my newest favourite shot! Stephanie and James had permission to use bubbles in the church, we captured beautiful images of the newly weds leaving the church with the bubbles spilling out. With additional lighting which I have to credit my new and wonderful second shooter/assistant and good friend Rhiannon, the bubbles are highlighted beautifully just as James, Stephanie and I envisioned!
With little time planned, it was straight to the reception at the beautiful Quat Quatta in Ripponlea after a little mingling and group photos. Its always great to work with John and the fantastic team at Quat Quatta, its such a wonderful venue with fantastic gardens and perfect backdrops.
Throughout the reception we captured some great journalistic and candid images.
After the cutting of the cake, Stephanie surprised James and guests with an amaxing 3 piece African band. They were just sensational, and had the whole room up singing, clapping and dancing!
After the reception we went a did a few location shots on the way back to the hotel, with light fading we had to work quickly. Thank-you again to driver Nick, who went above and beyond his duty, and even stayed back a little later for us to get more amazing shots!
All in all, a great day for everyone, made even more so with a wonderful couple and all people involved.
