I met Amy years ago when she worked in the Jewellery Industry at Hamiltons Jewelers, where I purchased Hayley’s engagement ring. Amy and the Bridesmaids got ready at Crown Metropol and then traveled to meet Marcus and the Wedding Party for the ceremony at St Lukes in South Melbourne. I photographed the rings whilst Amy was getting ready and was responsible for getting the rings safely to Marcus for the ceremony!
It was a beautiful ceremony which was supposed to follow with family photographs afterwards, however unfortunately we were rained out. Luckily Amy and Marcus’ reception was at Quat Quatta one of my favourite wedding reception venues so I called ahead and asked if we could come early to do the family photos and creative photography there, and of course they we’re happy for us to be there.
We got a few great car shots first, then explored the interiors of Quat Quatta for wedding photos, it was nice being back there with Day light savings as we were able to make the most out of the venues beautiful gardens and surroundings. Just before they were introduced to their guests I saw this great shot and whipped them both into a small room off the corridor to the bridal sweet and got what is now one of my favourite shots of the day!
Due to timing and guests trying to shelter from Melbourne’s unpredictable weather there were a few shots and locations that we were yet to explore, so I offered to stay through the reception. Thanks to John and the wonderful staff at Quat Quatta, Rhiannon me second photographer and I were offered a meal and the most amazing desert. Things don’t always go to plan and as a wedding photographer you have to be flexible! Im really happy I stayed the extra time for Amy and Marcus as we were able to get some great cake and dancing shots as well as see them naturally mingling with the guests.
Amy and Marcus, I hope you love the preview of Quat Quatta Wedding Photos , cant wait to see you at the end of the week to show you more! Andrew.
