It was great to be back photographing a wedding at the MCG again. It’s a nice change from the popular wedding venues and allows me to be a little more creative and think outside the box a bit more.
The Long Room is certainly a wonderful venue with a difference! The ground and the grandstand makes for an amazing backdrop.
There was limited time for photographs, made even more challenging because it was dark and raining! But I offered up the suggestion to get them out for a quick photograph in the rain. After setting up the lights we braved the weather and it was definitely worth it!
Family shots were done inside the amazing church of St Ignatius, the second time I was there in as many weeks, except this time instead of a helicopter ride to the Yarra Valley it was straight to the MCG! Equally amazing!
At the long room, such a magnificent venue, and even though there was only the wedding party there, they had the lights on! Well wait, not the main ones, but they had growing lights on the pitch, apparently they have to do this since extending the grandstand. You learn something new everyday!
