Montsalvat Wedding Elopment

Montsalvat Wedding Ceremony - Words by Sally Hughes | Marriage Celebrant Melbourne There’s something especially lovely about elopements. There's a sense of calm, an unhurried and relaxed mood that I find so very beautiful. There’s also a wonderful intimacy created when only the bride and groom, their two witness and I walk around a garden or gallery, unrestrained by seating arrangements and run sheets, in search of the perfect spot to conduct the ceremony.   We begin when we’re ready.Elopements are much briefer than “standard" civil ceremonies, usually lasting … [Read more...]

Royce Hotel Wedding Photography

Royce Hotel Wedding Photography with Eastern and Western Traditions. We started Andrew and Biens Wedding Day with two traditional Chinese Tea Ceremonys.  The first ceremony was at Biens house followed by another Tea Ceremony at Andrews.  Chinese weddings are rich with symbolism, tradition, and rituals. Paying homage to ancestors and traditions is one of the key concepts in Chinese weddings.  I personally (Being half Chinese myself) love seeing the Bride in her traditional Red Gown serving tea to her husband's family at one moment, and dancing the night away to a d.j. in a another wedding … [Read more...]

Quat Quatta Wedding Photography with Polish Traditions

Quat Quatta Wedding Photography with Polish Traditions Quat Quatta Wedding Photography with another wonderful couple.  Having already photographed Arletta and Adam for their Engagement photo session, I was really looking forward to photographing their Wedding. As far as Wedding Photography goes, I have to say that this was an extremely easy couple to photograph, the camera loves Arletta and I have to agree with her bridesmaids, that she looked like she walked straight off the cover shoot of a magazine! I enjoyed meeting Arlettas family, it's weddings like this that make me think … [Read more...]

Beaumaris Motor Yacht Squadron Wedding

I was fortunate enough to have been referred to Adam and Julie by Alicia Curtis a now semi retired photographer, whom I’ve had the pleasure of working with for many years.  Adam and Julie got married at the majestic location of The Beaumaris Motor Yacht Squadron.  Adam has fond memories of this location as it used to be the beach where his parents would take him and his brother to play, when they were younger. I had never been there before but instantly saw so many great photo opportunities. We were fortunate enough to have nice dramatic stormy skies and just a touch of rain as we were … [Read more...]

Elizabeth and Michael- Quat Quatta and St Johns Church I was quite excited to get home and view the images after the wedding as I knew I had some gorgeous photos.  The day went so smoothly, Elizabeth and Michael were so natural in front of the camera and needed little to no direction. With her gorgeous smile and Michael's style and class together with the amazing venues and locations we captured the day beautifully. Elizabeth and Michael had planned to be married in the Botanical Gardens but due to it being Australia Day they decided there would be too many things happening around the … [Read more...]

Larissa & Dave’s Beautiful Garden Wedding

A Beautiful Garden Wedding With a Country Feel. Larissa and David were married on Larissa's Aunty and Uncles property in Keysborough.  Larissa was glowing and made a very beautiful pregnant bride! It was a beautiful outdoor ceremony in the gardens which thankfully the rain held off for most of the day!  The small amount of rain we experienced ended up adding to some of my favourite shots of the day! Larissa is a lighting designer and I was excited to see the amazing display of lights she had inside and out, all over the property.  She did an amazing job! Earlier, during our … [Read more...]

ABIA Awards Night A big thanks to all my past brides for nominating me for the ABIA awards and for introducing me to the awards this year.  I hadn't heard of the awards prior to being nominated and really enjoyed the evening meeting new people in the industry. It was a great evening at Leonda by the yarra, and it was fantastic see so many familiar faces. I got a score of 99.31% which is apparently really great! But not quite enough to be the overall winner, oh well, something to strive for again next year. … [Read more...]

More film wedding photography! It’s so exciting to be shooting a whole wedding on FILM this weekend in the Yarra Valley at the beautiful Stones of the Yarra Valley. The 18 hour celebration started at 6am at docklands.  The sun was still sleeping and the lights of the city buzzing made for an exciting start to the day!  We then traveled across the city to the brides … [Read more...]
